Hybrid AR Coatings
Cleveland Crystals provides the world's
only hybrid Sol- Gel/dielectric AR coatings for NLO crystals, consisting
of a conventional dielectric thin film combined with a Sol-Gel film.
These hybrid coatings are designed primarily for 266 and 355 nm pumped
BBO OPO/DFM applications (they are also suitable for KTP/KTA), where the
pump, signal and idler reflectivities can be reduced to <0.1% (see the
example below). The signal or idler can be provided with an extremely broad
transmission window. These designs are also suitable for use in the
deep UV down to ~200 nm and provide the highest potential damage threshold
of any coating concept suitable for double V applications on BBO.
As with Sol-Gels, the hybrid's Sol-Gel top layer is mechanically fragile.
